IN LOVING MEMORY JAMAICA

Dear Editor

Presently I am In my last year of university, studying to become a BA Illustrator. My summer project was to do an Illustration of what I find upsetting, that has been broad casted on the news and in newspaper around the world. I chose to do an Illustration regarding my native country Jamaica. It is disturbing to see the land of wood and water, known as the land of paradise turning into a war zone.

My true History I learnt as a child from my mother who is born in clarendon, and my Father that was Born in Westmorland. Every Sunday after dinner was the time for story telling, and a good sing a long. My parent would tell us the family about the values of life, and sticking together. I was alway told, United you stand divided you fall. I love Jamaica and it’s sense of freedom, something I don’t get in Britain. Why can’t the people see what is happening to this beautiful country? Do they not know what they have.

I would trade places to live where I can eat healthy, because there is cultivation all year round. The different variety of vegetable and fruits to choose from. Sunshine constantly with the breeze of the sea in the midday, and the sounds of the waves by night. If the war and animosity does not stop they will be nowhere for tourist to visit, and we that are born abroad will have no alternative than to stay put, and sadly watch our land of paradise disappear.

The image sent with this article represent all that is going on in Jamaica at this present time, sad but true.

I would like this image to be published so that the selective few may focus, and hopefully realize what has to happen. Jamaicans are surrounded by churches, yet the words from Drugs of all kinds are introduced to the desperate, naive or a plain idlers, because he or she has to much time on there hand, which then effect there head. In the eyes of some of the young men, all they see is to own a “piece” gun. What is that quote? Oh yes! Live by sword, die by the sword.

Mothers forever in sorrow, while they lay their kins to rest in peace. The bible continues to bleeds upon the Nation regardless the amount of churches that stands.

Is the country strangled because of the two political parties? Bob Marley tried to make the two become one heart, at his one love concert held in Jamaica, his musical lyrics combined is another book in its self, Influencing many people all over the world.

The Queen of England as always been there, in the back ground rather than in the forefront of the county. The people must discover for them self her purpose.

The Robin hood of Jamaica is the least of the problem, but is used as a diversion of what is really taking place.

I shed my tears for the innocent, and honestly pray for a brighter and better tomorrow. I pray Jamaica. Focus on teaching the innocent children to do onto other as they would like done to them. Bad boys time to put down the guns and stop the crime, allow where you live stand up to it name, and let your children grow and benefit in peace.

CORRUPTION IS SO DEEP

Thousands of people all over the world has been inspired by this man Bob Marley. Through his music career he spreads the words of peace, love, harmony and greed
This country has the most churches in the whole world, Christianity on the rise. This does't stop the words from the bible from bleeding on nation. Are these two parties to be blamed? or who wears this crown.

THERE IS ALL WAYS THE GREADY THAT JUST CAN'T SATISFY OR WONT SATISFY THAT WHEN CORRUPTION SET IN SO DEEP, THAT EVENTUALLY EVEN INNOCENT PEOPLE END UP SUFFERING.

Alexander Bustamante governed a land of paradise

In the Days when Alexander Bustamante was in office Jamaica was that land of paradise, and crime was low. what happened to allow crime rate to score so high today.
